New tennis courts and modernisation of clubhouse

new artificial grass tennis courtsOrmskirk Tennis Club continues to invest in its facilities and recently saw the laying of two new artificial courts with the QuikKourt carpet surface and new floodlights enabling all year round play.

The Club has three shale courts that it uses for matchplay and social tennis.

The clubhouse has also been extensively modernised and refurbished. It houses a bar area, kitchen facilities, changing rooms and toilets.

Welcome to our tennis club

We welcome all abilities to play at Ormskirk Tennis Club in West Lancashire. We aim to be a friendly and progressive club offering awide range of tennis activities for all ages.

The Club has six league teams ranging across the Divisions of the Southport League. The last few years have seen the Club's 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th teams all move up the league while the 1st team have maintained their Division One status so we're pretty good too! We encourage junior players by providing a platform for them to begin league tennis at a low level at an early age.

Junior players are an important part of the club's strategy of encouraging development from an early age. Membership includes some group coaching and Friday evening is junior night at the Club. Go to the Junior webpage

If social tennis is more your thing then you are well catered for as Ormskirk Tennis Club has two social sessions per week - Thursday evenings from 7pm and Sunday mornings from about 10am or whenever you get out of your lazy bed.

The Club operates tournaments throughout the season, again aimed at including all levels of ability, and occasional tournaments aimed at those with plenty of spare time! If you're not in the running for a Wimbledon wild card, there's always the mixed-doubles handicap which gives even the most double-faulting server or dodgy backhander a chance to win.

Official business details of Ormskirk Tennis Club are available online. Take a look at Ormskirk Tennis Club's rules. Minutes from Club meetings are available online and to download.
