Notes for guidance of members - Please ensure that you follow these as a courtesy to other members
General
1) The use of the facilities and eligibility for team selection is restricted to members who have paid their subscriptions. Subscriptions become payable from the 1st of April each year. No Pay, No Play!
2) Members may introduce visitors to use the club facilities at a fee of £2.00 per visit. The member is responsible for collecting such fee and passing the monies on to the Treasurer. Visitors are allowed up to three separate visits after which they are expected to join the club.
3) Members and visitors are required to wear appropriate tennis clothing and footwear. Football kit, beachwear and jeans are not acceptable. To prevent damage to the shale courts, ridged, serrated or pimpled soled trainers should not be worn.
Courts
4) When you have finished playing, remove any debris on the courts (especially the metal lids off the ball tubes, which are extremely hazardous) and place in the bins provided. If you have been using a Shale court, brush it, so it is available for use.
5) Do not take food, drink or glassware on court, other than that essential to sustain players in between games. Should members see any debris/waste on court, please place in the bins provided.
6) On match days the Groundsman will prepare the shale courts for the evening matches, so would all members please avoid playing on these after they have been prepared, or if play is unavoidable, please ensure that the courts are brushed and if necessary rolled in readiness for the match.
7) The automatic watering system operates under high pressure and is potentially hazardous and should only be used by those members who have received training in its safe and proper use.
Play
8) If members are waiting to play, singles should not be played and doubles play restricted to one short set.
9) Juniors under 10 must be supervised by an adult at all times. The Club House is not available after 9.00pm for juniors on any night.
10) The Club pursues a policy of playing to strength irrespective of age. Junior, intermediate and collegiate mem-bers may participate in senior play including matches, by invitation.
Court Availability
11) The club operates a strict court timetable (a copy of which is attached), which it expects all members to respect. This timetable is updated on a weekly basis and displayed in the clubhouse as well as on the club website.
12) Notices regarding court requirements are not permitted to be displayed anywhere in the clubhouse, should you wish to book a court/courts for any use then please refer to the timetable for an available slot and contact the Court Bookings Administrator, who will confirm your booking and update the timetable accordingly.
Pavilion
13) The bar area is restricted to persons authorised by the committee to dispense drink or snacks. Junior and Inter-mediate members are not permitted to enter the bar.
14) Club House keys [two are required, a Yale key and a mortice key] are available, from the Club Secretary, for Senior and Collegiate members on payment of a £7.00 charge (non refundable). Members are asked to set the alarm on leaving and to lock the Club House.
Other
15) Coaching is provided on an individual or group basis for all members by the Club Coach. Details of fees, times and coaches can be found in the clubhouse.
16) The Club has a Child Protection Policy and only those individuals listed by the Club are authorised by the Club to carry out activities with children and young people. The Club has a nominated Child Protection Officer to whom all matters related to child protection should be referred.
17) When making use of any kitchen equipment (including cutlery, crockery, utensils and glassware) please ensure these items are cleaned, and returned to their correct location, before leaving the club.
